This is by far my favorite collection of all the ones I got to see during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in NYC. Christian Siriano is a new rising star designer. He won Project Runway last year. For those not familiarized with this reality show, it is for designers who want to be discovered. The winner gets to present his season collection in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in NYC.

Anyway, when you see in the collage of his collection, I think you will agree that it is simply spectacular. His choice of fabrics and cuts, colors, shoes, bags, and the hats were to die for.

Hi guys! One of the trends I'm following right now is Grecian-themed clothing and accessories. Jersey tube dresses are part of this theme, as well as one-shoulder dresses like the black number I'm wearing in the pic below. I like to wear them in solid colors, but they also look really cute in prints -- animal! I always wear these types of dresses with a strappy sandal -- metallic and/or gladiator. Just make sure they're flats -- heels take away from the whole Athenian vibe. You can dress up the look with lots of gold jewelry (the Forever 21 fake stuff totally works!) like this medallion necklace I'm wearing.

Demelza Reveley talks spring fashion

The winner of "Australia's Next Top Model" talks spring fashion, her best beauty tips and how the show has changed her life.

How has life been since ANTM?

"My life has changed immensely since ANTM. I now study from home and am completing my HSC via correspondence. I wouldn’t have it any other way as I feel extremely lucky to have found something that I truly love and want to excel in."

What are some of the incredible things you have done since?

"Since the show I’ve had the opportunity to experience some truly amazing things. I’ve been lucky enough to travel to New York twice, which is very special for me as I love the city so much. I have had the privilege of working with Ferrero Rocher, Napoleon Perdis and the Strand Arcade."

How did winning ANTM change your life?

"Winning the show opened a lot of doors for me and made it a lot easier to get a head start in the fashion industry. I had never considered modeling before I went on ANTM and as I progressed in the competition I realised just how much my life had changed. The show has given me the connections and opportunities to set myself up in the industry for years to come."

What are your fondest memories of ANTM?

"I guess going to Fiji would be a big highlight. We had such a wonderful time and the people were just so lovely. Fiji is such a beautiful destination and shooting with Russel James was certainly one of the most incredible opportunities I have been given. New York was probably the most memorable trip I have ever had (even though we were all sick with the flu and jet lagged the entire trip). Staying in a Manhattan penthouse apartment with the Chrysler building right outside your window was a truly ore inspiring experience. We were so lucky to have been given the experiences we had on that show."

What did you learn from ANTM?

"I think the biggest thing I discovered on the show was myself. I was barely sixteen at the time and I thought that I was quite mature and knew what I wanted and needed. I was lucky to have so many inspiring and diverse people around who helped me to discover who I was and helped me grow up into an accomplished young woman."

Q. What have been your career highlights?
A. Fashion in itself is constantly changing and to have been in this industry for 10 years is a highlight in itself. Also walking the runway for distinctive designers such as Versace, Dior and Dolce &Gabanna, and having a job that takes you around the world, to places you only dream of visiting. It’s also exciting to have a job that involves you with many people. And every day you are heading to a new place.

Q. What’s on your wishlist for summer?
A. I’m really loving designers Balmain and Dion Lee, so items from their collections are definitely on the list. I would have to say bright bikinis and classic
sandals are also must-haves.

Q. What are your favourite shops?
A. I do most of my shopping online now, but I still manage to venture out to my favourites; Willow, Ginger & Smart, tuchuzy, Zimmerman and what girl wouldn’t say Cosmopolitan shoes?

Q. What are your top tips for stylish dressing?
A. Personally the key to stylish dressing is to not think too much about an outfit - clothing should speak for itself. If an outfit is lacking a certain spark, jewellery is always a great solution, so accessorise it up.

Q. Who are your style icons?
A. I love Blake Lively and Kate Moss as they both have classic, elegant yet a touch of funk to their style, and whenever I flick through magazines their style always stands out.

Q. And your beauty icons?
A. Grace Kelly - she was a classic beauty.

Q. What are some great beauty tips you’ve picked up through your work?
A. Curling your lashes, adding loads of mascara and putting white pencil on the inner corners of your eye really open them up. Also, hairspray on your eyebrows, as mine never go in the same direction.

Q. How do you prepare for 30 Days of Fashion & Beauty?
A. I don't do anything differently then I do on a day-to-day basis and that is, I try and to eat healthy, exercise five times a week with my dog Tygalilly, be balanced and have fun.

Q. Any tips for looking good all night?
A. Don't wear too much make-up - eyeliner and mascara is all you need. And always be comfortable in what your wearing.

Q. And for looking good the morning after?
A. A morning walk and lots of water.

Q. And how do you unwind at the end of 30 Days of Fashion & Beauty?
A. By either taking a few days off from everything and just hanging with my dog, or by spending time with my family back in New Zealand - its also a good excuse for a holiday.

Q. Any final words of fashion and beauty wisdom?
A. Be happy with what you have, look after it and don't follow the pack when it comes to fashion, dress to your personality.

I have two words for you — maxi dresses! This year I discovered the maxi dress. Well let me clarify, I discovered that the maxi dress could work for me. I’ve known about them ever since they became popular again about a year or so ago. However, I thought that the wonderfully flowy dresses were reserved for women who were leggy or tiny, neither of which I am. So I admired them from afar.

This year, as I searched for dresses to add to my wardrobe, I decided to try one on. It was wonderful! The flowy material that I thought would over-emphasize my curves, managed to hug the places I wanted it to and hang loosely over the places I didn’t. Plus they are fabulously comfortable! I fell in love and proceeded to get several of them. My maxi dresses are so comfortable that I had to figure out a way to take them into the fall season.

I figured out a few cool ways to move the maxi dress seamlessly from the hot summer months to the cooler fall months.

Pair it with a short, cropped jacket
Throw on a great scarf
Wear it with a nice cardigan or sweater
Throw a short or long sleeved t-shirt underneath it
Now I must caution you here. If you want to experiment with any of these transitions, make sure you do a test run first. Put on the outfit, pull out your full length mirror (that EVERY woman should have) and take a look. Maxi dresses come in so many different styles that one transitional piece may work better than another. Be realistic. Transitional pieces should be just as fabulous as the pieces they’re transitioning.

Maximize Your Lashes

These days, there are tons of mascaras that promise you super long lashes, separation and thickness. Unfortunately, these products don’t work for most of the time. That’s why you need to adopt a good technique to get the most out of your lashes and maximize them to the fullest. So here is how to get the most out of your lashes:

Step 1: Use an eyelash curler to curl the base of your lashes first. Hold for 15 seconds. If you find that your lashes don’t curl as easily, heat your eyelashes curler with a blowdrier for a few seconds and try again.

Step 2: After you’ve curled the base, use your lash curler at the halfway point of your lashes. Hold for another 15 seconds.

Step 3: The final step involves curling your lashes at the tips to get the maximum lash curl. Hold for 15 seconds yet again and release.

3 Steps to Looking Gorgeous

Most of us don’t have time in the morning to do full-on makeup, hair and everything else. All of these things take time and no one wants to wake up an hour early to do their makeup. So here is a super-quick way to getting ready from makeup to hair in just a few minutes.



Step 1: Face Fix

Instead of spending so much time putting on foundation and blending just use a concealer to even out your skin tone and reduce redness. Dot it all over the problem areas tapping it lightly so it melts onto your skin. Finish off with a mineral powder all over your face so your concealer stays on longer and your face looks fresh and matte.

Step 2: Enhance Your Eyebrows

You may not think a lot about grooming your brows, but it makes a huge difference. To get a nice arch, hold a pencil diagonally over your brows positioning the tip of the eraser at the base of the brows. Tweeze any hairs that fall above and below the pencil. Flip it once you reach midway, and repeat on the other side.

Step 3: Get a Beautiful Rosy Glow

There is nothing more beautiful than a rosy, youthful glow to your face so take a pink lipstick and warm it up with your blowdrier for 5 seconds. Swipe it over your lips and proceed by adding a little bit to the apples of your cheeks. Use the cream lipstick as an eyeshadow and blend it lightly with your fingertips. Finish off with mascara.

3 Tricks to Getting Gorgeous Eyebrows

Going to get your eyebrows done on a regular basis can empty out your wallet pretty fast, but if you know how to do them right, why spend a fortune and get them done by someone else? Here’s how you can do your own eyebrows in just a few simple steps. No money, no fuss, no pain!



Step 1

Start by brushing your brows upwards using a brow brush. Then snip off the long ends of any hairs that might stick out using a pair of brow scissors and continue brushing downwards. Doing this will ensure that you trim off the bulk of the hair, plus will reveal your natural brow shape.

Step 2

Hold a pencil parallel to the side of the bridge of your nose: that’s where the inner edge of your brow should start. To determine the highest point of your arch, place the pencil parallel to the outside corner of your iris. To find out where your brows should end, just hold the pencil diagonally from your nostril to the outside corner of your eye. You can also just look in the mirror and find the highest point of your brow. From there, you can tweeze right underneath the high point to maximize the arch.

Step 3

Using a brow pencil, mark the spots you just found and begin tweezing accordingly. Be sure to remove no more than 2 rows of hair so your brows still maintain a natural shape and look. You may need to remove just a few hairs from the top of the brows to make them look neat and shaped.

Get Fullers Lips Without The Needle

Celebrities everywhere are showing up with fuller looking lips and we want to know are they the real thing or have we been misled by the needle? Well either way, they won’t give us the real answer so we came up with a surefire way of getting gorgeous, full lips without submiStep 1: Exfoliate

Before beginning, wet your lips and rub a lip exfoliator onto your pucker in slow, circular motions. This will slough off the dead skin cells, leaving your lips super soft and healthy looking.

Step 2: Lip Liner

Get a lip liner that matches the color of your lips and start tracing, making sure to leave out the corners of the mouth as this can close in your lips, making them visibly smaller. Smudge the liner over the ridge of your lips with your finger.

Step 3: Highlighter

Apply a thin line of liquid highlighter onto your cupid’s bow so that the light will bounce off it and play up the curvy area.

Step 4: Lip Gloss

Apply a neutral lip color and finish off with a dab of shimmery gloss on the center of your bottom lip. This will reflect the light off of it.

Chemical Peels
Cosmetic surgery may be a step too far – but if you want something more than a regular facial – a chemical peel might be the answer. Here’s how to decide...

Chemical peels – the term chemical peel can sometimes cause confusion. There are a variety of peels to suit each individual skin condition. The peels range from lighter ones where the skin will not physically peel to a TCA (Trichloroacetic acid) which is a medical peel. This is carried out by a nurse and the skin will peel 4-7 days after the treatment.
A chemical peel will improve the appearance of fine lines and help treat uneven pigmentation and acne. There should be no discomfort following a lighter peel although with a TCA you will have some downtime where your skin will peel 4-7 days later.


Results are quite dramatic and you will see increased skin vitality with a reduction of fine wrinkles, although after a TCA peel patients take up to 14 days to see the full effect.


Treatments take place once every two weeks for a recommended six treatments, to achieve maximum effect. Your skin will be prepared prior to your treatment. During application of the chosen AHA or BHA to your skin, you may feel a tingling or itching sensation. After your peel, a post-peel treatment is applied.


If you choose to have a TCA peel you may only need 1-3 treatments per year. During application of the TCA your skin will feel a hot burning sensation over the face which will pass. There are normally 3 applications of the TCA to complete the treatment.
Chemical peels will not only improve the colour, freshness and texture of your face, but will also help to improve skin tone and reduce visibility of fine wrinkles and superficial discolouration, such as age spots.


The risks of a chemical peel are minimal but some people can be allergic and therefore a patch test is carried out before any peel. There is a risk of hyper pigmentation, hypo pigmentation, and reddening if you pick or try to peel the flaky skin before it is ready to shed, so patient compliance is essential.


Initially after a lighter peel your skin will feel fresh and tingly.
After a TCA your face will feel swollen, tight and look pink and your skin will start to peel within 4-7 days. You must not pick at the skin as this could cause pigmentation and redness. The desired results will be apparent after 14 days.

The skin is constantly renewing itself and therefore after a course of peels you will require six-weekly maintenance treatments. You could have two courses of treatments per year if required. The results generally last for up to six months and can vary from person to person depending if you have a course of peels or have a one-off treatment.

Brown eyes come in many different shades so let’s look at a kaleidoscope of colors to help us to enhance eye color. Colors opposite each other will be complementary so, will work to brighten each other up. For example: Red and green, orange and blue, purple and yellow. Depending on the shade of brown your eyes are will determine the shades of eye shadow you may use to brighten the brown which, may give you the effect of lightening that you are after, especially if you use colors that shimmer. If your eyes have a yellow tinge, try using an eye shadow with a purple tone.The next thing you need to consider is the one rule of makeup that will always guide you: Light colors bring out, make larger and highlight. Dark colors recede, minimize or contour. So with this in mind you could work with dark eyeliner and light eye shadow colors to emphasize your dark chocolate eyes with black liner, mascara, a smudge of pale pink eye shadow, and finish with lightly flushed cheeks and make your lips your signature. Create lip focus with a red or berry stain. To pull color focus from your eyes, giving the illusion of lighter eyes, go for a deeper shade of lip color.

Dark brown eyes are very versatile when it comes to color accents, and dark brown eyes are such a beautiful feature to have, I would play them up. Compliment your brown eyes with pale pinks, or accent the brown with gold and deep rusts. Have you tried using eyeliner to add definition? One look is to use one sheer glittery eye shadow used all over in combination with a softly smudged liner for a more sophisticated look.

I would definitely recommend you have a play with colored eyeliners. Dark brown eyes look stunning lined in shades of plum mix with a pale mauve shadow, aubergine mix with a shimmery light pink shadow, raisin mix with a mushroom soft brown shadow. Just remember to combine with a lighter shadow or your eyes may look more dramatic.

There are various methods of using eyeliner. Pencils are the most versatile eye-defining tools, as you can start softly, blending each layer back if it starts to become too heavy looking. Pencil can be smudged softly, or add depth under an eye shadow for a muted look, or used alone for strongly defined eyes.

Liquid eyeliner is much more dramatic, and can be applied over top of your eye pencil for added intensity, or used under eye shadow to enhance your eye shape. Both of these techniques ensure longwearing eyeliner.

For the most natural way to line your eyes, use a small, firm brush and apply eye shadow as your eyeliner. Make the most of your dark brown eyes, using soft pinks to really bring them out. Use brown mascara for day, and a black/brown mascara for evening or special occasions. Keep eyeliner to a minimum though. Just use it to softly frame your eyes. Avoid all black as it tends to be too strong. Chocolates, deep plums and charcoals smudged into your lashes will do the trick. You might like to try adding a very subtle contour in a soft mushroom color on your brow bone just above your crease and blend this softly.

On the days you feel like your eyes need a pick-me-up, jazz up your eye make-up a little. Graduating your eye makeup from at your lash line to your brow will give your eyes more depth. Use the darkest shade along your lash line, and merge into lighter shades nearer your brow. Contouring and shading can create the illusion of different eye shapes. By using dark to minimize and light to make larger, you can play with altering the length and size of your eyes.

If you just want to keep it simple, sweep a shimmery pastel shadow all over your lid, curl your lashes, apply 2 to 3 coats dark grey charcoal or dark brown mascara, and add a few individual false lashes on the outer corner of your eyes!
